The South African media space and readers across African nations are bracing themselves for the arrival on the shelves of Star Magazine Africa, a publication owned and shaped by UMEH Media.
“Star Magazine Africa is dedicated to African superstars across a spectrum of industries spanning from entertainment, business, media, music, mining, television, radio, investments, sport, real estate, construction, and restaurants, among others. Chief among our segments will be The Annual Top 100 Most Influential African Stars that will be known as “Star 100 Africa” who have contributed immensely towards making Africa better,” Khanyisile Nkosi, UMEH Media CEO, said this week.
“We will be interviewing and featuring African superstars, and appointing a judging panel that will help list Top 100 inspirational African Stars yearly. Can you see the name alone cut it? Soon we will be quoted by various biographies,” a self-confident Nkosi added joyfully.
The Star Magazine ” Star100 Africa” annual listing will be based on influence of the stars and most importantly their contribution towards changing the face of the continent, the company explained, adding that a star’s humanitarian work would play a critical role in this listing.
“Influence and bank balance alone do not cut it. A star must use his or her influence to make Africa better to be regarded as influential person by Star Magazine Africa. In future we will start hosting the actual awards for this segment and rotate the event from country to country,” Nkosi said.
The Johannesburg-based media company has not yet announced a date for launch of the pan-African publication. However, it is believed that the preparations are going well behind the scene, as the last touches are being put in place to ensure that Star Magazine kicks off in style and beats any competitor that stands on its way.
UMEH Media is a subsidiary of UMEH Group a multinational conglomerate based in South Africa that also has business interests in logistics, equity management, real estate, among others. The group was founded by South African businessman and philanthropist Xolane Ndhlovu
