A footage emerged showing former Bosasa Chief Operations Officer, Angelo Agrizzi lose his belongings worth about R378 000 to two armed robbers. Agrizzi was robbed at gunpoint, by two men.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon. The video shows a petrol attendant assist Agrizzi when two men wearing balaclavas appear out of nowhere and rob the unsuspecting Agrizzi at gunpoint. The petrol attendant manages to get away while the two men rob Agrizzi at gunpoint.
Angelo Agrizzi came into the spotlight in January 2019 when he appeared before the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into state capture. He was the first witness to appear before the commission of inquiry into state capture. Bosasa received multi-billion rand contracts from the state. In his testimony, Agrizzi said that Bosasa had spent between R4m and R6m a month bribing government officials for tenders.
Agrizzi implicated several prominent people in his testimony where he revealed that Bosasa paid over R70 million in bribes for government contracts over a period of 10 years. The former Bosasa executive is a controversial character. Throughout the proceedings, he never made or kept it a secret that he is racist.
Amongst the names of corrupt officials that were named by Agrizzi at the Commission of inquiry are:
- Dudu Myeni– Former SAA chairperson
- Hlaudi Motsoeneng– Former SABC Chief Operating Officer
- Lindiwe Sisulu– Former International Relations and operation minister
- Dr. Khotso de Wee– Former COO the Department of Justice and secretary of State capture
Angelo Agrizzi made it through the incident alive and unharmed. According to News 24, Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele said the men made off with “[a] wrist watch, wedding ring, black leather briefcase which contained one Apple MacBook and five Mont Blanc pens”
